Course Description:
Have you seen the price of sketch books these days?? Or want a sketchbook of a specific size? With specific paper? In this workshop you will learn two methods to create your own sketchbook with any pad of paper, any size, that is uniquely your own design! Creating art – cover to cover!
Learning Outcomes:
You will learn how to create two types of sketchbooks that open flat.
1) With four signatures and a sewn binding using the Coptic stitch method.
2) A bound sketchbook that opens flat, with a glued binding.
One book will be covered with decorative paper and the other with your own artwork.
About the Artist/Instructor:
Chari-Lynn is a three year Honours Graduate of Georgian College School of Design and Visual Arts. She has taught a variety of art methods around Ontario, including the Haliburton School of Design and Visual Arts, ArtSpark, Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts, Quest Art Gallery and Barrie Art Club. Chari-Lynn is also a Certified Zentangle Teacher.
There will be a small and large kit available from the instructor for a nominal fee. See following details.
Additional event information:
There is a small fee for instructor provided materials of $5.00 for binding fabric, thread, 12 x 12 scrap book paper and two sheets mixed media paper.
Also available for $15.00 is a kit with binding fabric, thread, 2 watercolour pads (student grade), 12 x 12 scraptbook paper, two sheets mixed media paper and curved needle.
