EXPLORING DESIGN IN ABSTRACTION: VIEWFINDER COMPOSITIONS: With Lydia Panart

ONE FULL DAY SESSION
THURSDAY Workshop, September 10th, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Focus: Explore the possibilities of abstract design through a viewfinder!  Take an intriguing moment of a painting and turn it into a compelling abstract composition.

Medium: Acrylic, possibly other media.

Levels: Beginners with experience, intermediate

Course Description:
Drawing inspiration from the work of contemporary abstract artists, Lydia will demonstrate how to observe an image from multiple perspectives, including the use of a viewfinder to isolate compelling compositions. Participants will learn how to identify strong abstract designs within a chosen artwork and use these discoveries as the foundation for their own paintings.

About the Artist/Instructor:

Lydia Panart studied in Buenos Aires under Kenneth Kemble, one of the most controversial artists of the 50s. Ms. Panart has won awards of excellence internationally and has works in private/corporate collections in Canada and internationally. Her latest solo exhibition was held in Paul Morin Gallery, Alton.
