SATURDAY Workshop, November 7th, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
This workshop description has been slightly revised, as our instructor has added the use of aerial photographs as inspiration for our abstract painting experience.
Focus: This in-person workshop offers participants the opportunity to further explore abstraction through a new creative project. Drawing inspiration from your selection of aerial photographs of natural landscapes, we will view these from a variety of perspectives, including a vewfinder, to develop an abstract painting from initial inspiration to final resolution.
Medium: Acrylic, possibly other media.
Levels: Beginners with experience, intermediate, advanced

Course Description:
Drawing inspiration from aerial photographs of natural landscapes, Lydia will demonstrate how to “see” an image from multiple perspectives, including the use of a viewfinder to isolate compelling compositions. Participants will learn how to identify strong abstract designs within a chosen aerial photograph and use these discoveries as the foundation for their own paintings. About the Artist/Instructor:
Lydia Panart studied in Buenos Aires under Kenneth Kemble, one of the most controversial artists of the 50s. Ms. Panart has won awards of excellence internationally and has works in private/corporate collections in Canada and internationally. Her latest solo exhibition was held in Paul Morin Gallery, Alton.
