Speaker: Angela Aitken

Angela has a fine arts diploma from the Toronto School of Art and an Honours BFA (in Visual Arts and Humanities) from York University as well as two post-grad certificates in Community Arts Practice and Expressive Arts Practice. She is primarily a figurative artist, having explored large-scale portraiture on tar paper, clay sculpture, and mixed media drawings using a variety of paint, ink, collage, and drawing media.

In this art talk, Angela will discuss her process, her influences, and the trajectory that led her from somewhat traditional portraits/drawings to her current process that allows images to emerge intuitively from the work itself.
