SUMMARY:IN-HOUSE: Andrew Cheddie Sookrah - Colourful Brushstrokes!
DESCRIPTION:***IN-HOUSE WORKSHOP*** \nCOLOURFUL BRUSHSTROKES – BRINGING YOUR BRUSHSTROKES TO LIFE!: With Andrew Cheddie Sookrah \nTWO FULL DAY SESSIONS\nFRIDAY\, SEPT. 25TH & SATURDAY\, SEPT. 26TH \nFocus:  CONNECTING VARIED BRUSHWORK AND COLOUR!  One of the most important aspect of the art creation process is the way you present your brushstrokes; its tone\, emotion and feeling tells its own story\, as well as how you use colour to create atmosphere! \n\nMedium: Acrylic \nLevels: Suitable for all levels \nRegistration: \n– Members: $140.00\n– Non-members: $170.00 \nCourse Description:   \nBrushstrokes are at the heart of every painting—each one carrying tone\, emotion\, and a story that contributes to the larger narrative of your work. When your brushwork supports that story\, your painting becomes more cohesive\, expressive\, and aligned with your vision. \nHow colour and brushwork works together in harmony can really bring your artwork to life! \nIn this engaging acrylic workshop\, Andrew Sookrah guides participants through the process of building a strong foundation and developing a confident\, expressive brushstroke repertoire. Working from a range of inspirations—whether landscape\, still life\, abstraction\, or reference images—you’ll explore how thoughtful mark-making transforms a painting. This workshop is ideal for beginner to intermediate artists ready to elevate their creative expression while enjoying the process. \nLearning Outcomes: \n\nDevelop an understanding of how expressive brushstrokes convey tone\, emotion\, and visual narrative within a painting\nApply key design principles—balance\, unity\, movement\, rhythm\, contrast\, and focal point—to support a cohesive artwork\nBuild a versatile repertoire of brushstrokes through guided practice\, demonstrations\, and individualized feedback\n\nAbout the Artist/Instructor: \nAndrew Sookrah is an instructor and artist\, a raw colourist whose free brushwork is confident and powerful. His strengths can be seen in his strong sense of design\, exquisite use of effective composition\, confident presentation of bold colours… and in his figurative and portraiture work\, his capturing the essence of the human spirit. He masterfully interprets and expresses the unity of nature and cohesion in built environments. \nAndrew has taught many workshops at Barrie Art Club\, and is much sought after as an instructor for arts organizations such as the McMichael Canadian Art Collection Gallery in Kleinberg.  See more information about Andrew’s extensive repertoire of teaching and artistic accomplishments in the link for his workshop outline. \nMaterial List: \nhttps://barrieartclub.wildapricot.org/Sys/PublicProfile/96846053/4113953 \n\nPhotos: \nhttps://barrieartclub.wildapricot.org/Sys/PublicProfile/96846053/PhotoAlbums/61090 \nRegistration: \nhttps://barrieartclub.wildapricot.org/event-6625025
